The festival brings together young Finnish artists in a fresh, surprising and exhilirating way. The festival has featured, circus-, film-, dance- and visual art, side by side with music. The festival has received praise for its unique atmosphere, and the program is enjoyed also by first timers amongst art and classical music. In 2023 the festival will be organized June 30th - July 2nd in Houtskär and Korpo.

Founded in 1907 in a beautiful Art Nouveau building, the museum presents Finnish fauna and flora from the Turku archipelago and all the way to the mountains of Lapland. 30 different mammals and more than 140 bird species can be found in the museum's dioramas, i.e. natural landscapes. Bodö’s guest harbour and bistro café, which opened in 2016 is situated in the Archipelago Sea and operates out of an old coast guard station with the island’s tower still being used by the military today. Today the island’s main attractions are the sheltered guest harbour, bistro café, unique floating sauna, small shop, bed & breakfast with four guest rooms, beautiful nature trails to the south and east of the island. The island is accessible via a boat or a ferry M/S Falkö from Kirjainen. There is lots to do and enjoy on Bodö in spring, summer, and autumn, from sipping ice-cold drinks on the terrace and sampling the delicious food including homemade burgers and pizzas to a relaxing floating sauna and dip in the sea straight from the pontoon.

The Turku University Botanical Garden operating on the Island of Ruissalo is both a centre for scientific research and a public showcase for the fascinating world of plants. The outdoor and indoor gardens display over 5000 species and varieties of plants. Flourishing in the outdoor garden are e.g. annuals, meadow flowers, exotic trees and shrubs. A distinguishing feature of the new landscape are the three ponds containing colorful waterlilies and other wetland plants. The indoor gardens and cafe are open every day from 11am-5pm.

This nice beach by the Kakskerta lake on the Kakskerta island used to belong to the nearby Brinkhall Manor. Sandy beach is family friendly and the lake warms up faster than the sea does (which is pretty important here in Nordic Countries!)

The Brinkhall Manor, located in Turku on the island of Kakskerta, can trace its history back to the 16th century. The existing neoclassical buildings, completed in 1793, are surrounded by a rich natural and cultural landscape with parks and gardens going back many hundreds of years.

Brinkkala Mansion is perhaps best known as the site for the famous Declaration of Christmas Peace, an event broadcast to the nation every year. Beloved by Turku citizens, the little orange ferry runs nonstop back and forth across the Aura River approximately 500 metres after the last bridge heading toward the mouth of the river. The Funicular is the first outdoor inclined elevator in a Finnish city. It offers unimpeded access to Kakolanmäki hill where there is no other public transport. The funicular runs between Linnankatu and Graniittilinnankatu at Linnankatu 55b. You can get on or off at both stations, lower station and top station. Travelling on the funicular is free of charge and one-way trip takes about one minute.

Kalmankukka, drawn by Akseli Gallén-Kallela on wood, was once dismissed as a smudge. More than a hundred years later, art graphics - images made by printing with printing plates - can be found e.g. in Gallery Joella on the bank of the Aura river. Head over to Joella to view the exhibition on display and browse the hundreds of works for sale from dozens of different graphic artists.

Step into the city's oldest contemporary art space, Gallery Titanik, whose roof blends into Runeberg Park and the door opens to the banks of the Aura River. Since 1853 the country's worst villains and murderers have been locked inside the bleak walls of Kakola. The futures of thousands of men have been lost behind the iron doors and granite stone walls. The Kakolanmäki Hill Museum will present these stories to the visitors. In the warden's old horse stables are a collection of photographs and artefacts from a hundred years ago. A large part of the artefacts are donations from the families of Kakola's former prison guards. The Night of the Arts is a multifaceted event created by various actors mainly within the field of arts and culture as well as by the audience. The event takes place both indoors and in the streets, spreading out on the banks of river Aura and in the city centre.

The Old Great Square was a major traffic hub, marketplace and administrative centre from the 13th century to the beginning of the 19th century. Theatre Emma is located on the Island of Kailo at the edge of Naantali's Old Town, approximately 16 km from Turku. Heavily armored warriors will go head-to-head with one another throughout the weekend, challenging each other on horse and on foot over several disciplines. This highly impressive array of skills are now available for the eight time, now in a Finnish Championship competition format with international guests, taking place throughout the whole week within the magnificent and historical setting of Turku Castle. The competition will culminate in the final matches held on Sunday. During the competition the castle will come fully to life with a special market and themed tours. The combat zone and the market area are open to free to the public.

Turku Cathedral is Finland's National Sanctuary. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Finland's first bishop, St Henry, the church was consecrated in 1300. The Turku Cathedral is considered to be Finland's most valuable historical monument. Housed in the church's south gallery, the Cathedral Museum takes you on a journey through history from the early 1300's.

Turku City Library is an elegant building that combines modern and classic architecture offering culture in its many forms. The library is the perfect escape from the city rush into a intellectual and artistic haven. Finland's oldest city comes alive with event and festive spirit as Turku Day is celebrated yearly on the third Sunday of September. Turku Day features music, dance, sports and other cultural events. The events are organised by the City of Turku, local associations, businesses and clubs. During the day, there will be the traditional Posankka Race, the market square event at the Old Great Square and Turku Day Appro for students. Bringing together over a hundred events, the celebration of the Turku Day culminates in traditional fireworks from Samppalinnanmäki at 9pm.

Experience the summer magic and arrive to Turku by boat where Turku Guest Harbour warmly welcomes one. The unique location of Turku's Guest Harbour on the banks of the River Aura allows you to arrive right into the city centre. The Turku Market Hall, completed in 1896, brings a delightful atmosphere reminiscent of times gone by. The Market Hall, which extends the length of an entire block, was designed by architect Gustaf Nyström. Zaké Pizzeria & Wine Bar operates in Ruissalo Boatyard during the summer season. In charge of the kitchen for the fifth summer in a row is Davide Sindoni, the Finnish Pizza Master of 2017.
